After placing in the final ten of last years competition, I was asked to provide the promotional artwork for this years Annual Manga Jiman Competition hosted by the Japanese Embassy. Of course it was a great privilege and I was very happy to do so.
My initial idea was to go with something …a little…sweet (?) It took me all morning.
I used the blog’s mascot mech {ODAB: Princess.Rainbow.Icecream.Kittens} for a more cool design. It took me all afternoon.
Finally once the years theme of ‘wave’ was established I created a design to incorporate this. It took me all night and then I had a heart attack, and then I coloured it and sent it on later.
The piece is being shown nationwide and on the official site.
As well, as being featured on a number of sites including the all conquering (and personal favourite of mine) Forbidden Planet.
